Preventative services

We believe that early disease detection is vital in order for our patients to maintain optimum oral health. We encourage regular dental examinations which enable us to minimise treatment and maintenance procedures.

Everyone of our patients  is unique. Your wishes are paramount and all treatment options will be discussed thoroughly to ensure that your needs are met.

Our Oral Health Educator will give dietary advice and guidance on the toothbrushing techniques needed to secure a healthy mouth.

On your arrival at the Practice, we will ask you to update your medical history and discuss any concerns you may have about your teeth and gums. We will then thoroughly examine the health of your mouth, including teeth, gums, tongue and other soft tissues.
X-rays will normally be taken to check for any problems with your existing fillings, teeth and their supporting tissues, which cannot be seen by a visual examination.

This is what we do at our examinations:

  • Update medical history;
  • Ask you about any concerns you may have;
  • Oral Cancer screening of your soft tissues (Tongue/Lips/Cheeks);
  • Check the health of the teeth;
  • Check the health of any restorations;
  • Check the health of the gums;
  • Plaque check;
  • X-rays to detect any issues under, inside and between the teeth, that may not be visible to the eye; and
  • Treatment plan and dental health advice when necessary.

Our hygienist can completely remove superficial stains using a modern power jet to leave your teeth perfectly clean. Hygienists are specifically trained to treat gum disease and educate our patients on oral hygiene techniques, individually tailored to specific needs.

To prevent tooth decay. Sealants are a safe and painless way of protecting your teeth from decay. A sealant forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay.

Mouthguards can cushion a blow to the face minimising the risk of broken teeth and injuries to the soft tissues of the mouth. Anyone who participates in a sport that carries a significant risk of injury should wear a professionally made mouth protector.

Mouth or oral cancer can often be spotted in it’s early stages by your dentist during a thorough mouth examination. If mouth cancer is recognised early, then the chances of a cure are good. Anyone can be affected by mouth cancer whether they have their own teeth or not.

Thank You

I am extremely nervous of dentists due to childhood incidents – but had to have quick treatment following a severe crack in my molar. The whole experience was a dream – normally my fears start in Reception, but the receptionists were brilliant. The brilliance continued with my dentist Heidi explaining everything to me and making me feel really calm and relaxed despite having to have my tooth removed. I might have finally found my forever dentist. THANK YOU.

Caring Practice

I would just like to say a big thank you to my Dentist Matthew and Dental Nurse Ellie for all of the time spent with me over the last few months getting my smile back. I had a very big fear of going to the dentist I didn’t go in over 15 years and Matthew and Ellie made me feel so comfortable over my course of treatment and today was my last appointment. Thank you both very much it’s safe to say I have gotten over my fear of the dentist now!

Neston Dental Care

There used to be an advert on television, many years ago, which referred to Colgate toothpaste giving you a “ ring of confidence “. In my opinion, Neston Dental Care emulates the advert with every member of Staff giving an air of confidence to each patient , that all will be well in every aspect of their dental treatment.
